The Recreation Center 

at Garden of the Gods Collection

The Recreation Center at the Garden of the Gods Collection offers beautiful facilities, fun classes and activities that keep kids and their parents coming back for more. Our weekday Kids Care offers abundant activities and interactive personal care to children of our Members and Resort Guests Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 12 noon and Friday evenings from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Out teen room allows older kids the perfect space to spend time with friends, watch movies, play video games, foosball, pool and ping pong.

Light fare is available through the Recreation Center Snack Bar serving hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, ice cream and a variety of beverages.

Our Recreation Center is the perfect place for your kids to experience excellent activities of their own. From swimming to tennis to basketball and more, you can be sure they’ll never be bored.

Open Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Recreation Center will open for the season on Friday, May 26, 2017.

Member children and grandchildren age 23 and under are entitled to Recreation Center privileges if accompanied by the Member.  Babysitters and nannies accompanying children are considered members of the household.  Guests must be accompanied by their host, and the host will be charged a Recreation Center guest fee of $10 per guest for each visit.

Children under 13 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Kids Club

Fun For the Kids & Free Time for You

Family Services has come to the Club and Resort at Garden of the Gods Collection! Take advantage of the Club and Resort- enjoy lunch, a Spa treatment, take a Sports Club Fitness Class, play 9 holes of golf or even a few games of tennis while your children enjoy our extraordinary Recreation Center. With plenty of games and activities, your children will have fun while you take some time to relax. Take advantage of our daytime hours during the week for some “me time” or enjoy a date or event on Friday evening. All participating children must be potty trained and fully independent in the restroom.

Members, sign up online on the Member Central Calendar. Hotel Guests and Kissing Camels Property Owners, call the Front Desk at 719.632.5541 to make arrangments for your children during your stay.

To reserve a space for your children or grandchildren, members can sign up online via the Member Central Calendar and hotel guests please feel free to call the Front Desk at 719.632.5541 to make arrangements for your children during your stay.

  • Maximum time in Kids Club is limited to 3 hours per day.
  • All Children must be potty trained and independent in the restroom.
  • Parents and Grandparents of children in Kids Care are required to stay on the Garden of the Gods Collection complex.
  • Please note, late pickups (more than 5 minutes late after 3 hours) will be charged $2 per minute for every minute late.
  • Dinner is available for purchase on Friday evening between 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm for an additional $9 per child.
  • Walk-ins are welcome, but contingent on space availability.

Keeping the little ones busy and happy can be a challenge, especially as summer approaches. The Recreation Center at the Garden of the Gods Collection offers beautiful facilities, fun classes and activities that keep kids and their parents coming back for more.

Moms, dads and little tykes alike can enjoy some indoor and outdoor fun at the Recreation Center at the Garden of the Gods Collection! Cure your kid’s boredom with our featured camps tailored toward children of all ages and ranging from Swimming, Tennis and Golf Camps to Art, Culinary, Science, Lego’s and everything in-between. All camps offer a low child to adult ratio and are led by area professionals, ensuring the highest caliber of instruction for our Junior Members.

Members can register by viewing our Member Event Calendar and clicking on the camp according to its date. Our camps are open to the youth in our community, so please contact Alison King-Wieker directly to register at 719-520-4976 or aking@ggclub.com.

All camps offer a low child to adult ratio and are led by area professionals, ensuring the highest caliber of instruction for our Junior Members.  Extend your campers day by pairing select camps with Kids Club and lunch for an additional $12.50 per camp. May 30- June 2 | Junior Tennis Academy | Ages 7+ | 9am – 3pm

This is a perfect camp for all skill levels!  Players will be separated based on age and ability.  Mornings will focus on drills, training and proper techniques.  Afternoons will focus on match play to hone in on your child’s abilities in actual fast paced games.
Members: $500 | Non-Members: $525 | Price includes lunch.

June 5 – August 11 | Daily Swim Lessons | All Skills and Abilities Welcome

Learn to swim this summer with our daily swim lessons. Private lessons are $25 per member and $30 for non-members. Semi-Private lessons are $35 per member and $40 for non-members. Lessons are limited to two children.

June 9-11 | Junior Golf Academy | Ages 6-13 | 1pm – 4pm

This three-day clinic is designed to enhance your golfers abilities.  Whether your child is on their way to Augusta or just starting out in the game, our golf professionals will offer highly personalized instruction.  Our instruction approach allows for plenty of fun while your child takes their game to the next level.
Members: $175 | Non-Members: $200

June 12-16 | Advanced Chef Academy | Ages 10-15 | 1pm – 4pm

Calling all kitchen enthusiasts!  This advanced skill camp will be a fun hands-on crash course in all things culinary.  Our Executive Chef Brian Knutson will be teaching your children their way around the kitchen.  This fun camp will be sure to have your child cooking and baking potentially giving mom and dad a run for their culinary money.

June 12-August 4 | Garden of the Gods Stroke School | Monday – Wednesday – Friday 10:15am – 11am

Our stroke school is perfect for your emergent swimmer who needs more time in the pool to perfect their skills. This class is offered three days a week in two-week sessions. $75 per session. Maximum of four children for each session. Stroke school based on ability, not age.

June 12-August 4 | Garden of the Gods Swim Team | Monday thru Thursday 8:45am – 10am

We are excited to offer our very own intramural swim team this year at The Rec.  Practice is offered Monday thru Thursday and each morning will offer a challenging practice all while having fun. This team will be the perfect mix of fun with a competitive edge! We will also offer intramural meets as well as off-site meets (optional) throughout the season. Go TEAM GGCR.
Price $280 (includes team cap and shirt.) **Your child must be able to swim 25 yards frontstroke and 25 yards backstroke without stopping. If your child isn’t quite there we recommend stroke school to get your child team ready. Swim team placement is based on ability, not age.

June 26-30 | 3D Printing and Design Academy | Ages 6 – 12 | 1pm – 4pm

The popularity and awareness of 3D Printing is exploding!!  So come learn with us!!!  3D printing is breaking down barriers in design and manufacturing, and making what was previously impossible, possible for anyone with just a fundamental understanding of the technology. In this class, your child will learn the fundamentals of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and 3D printing, including all the main facets of 3D Printing: 3D Design and Modeling, preparing the file for print, and finally, the actual 3D Printing in the classroom! This class is suitable for both novices and those more experienced with technology. Anyone with an interest in 3D printing and who wants to learn should come along!

Ever wondered if you could survive on your own? At the Green Beret Survival Camp 2.0 your kids will learn about the natural environment and the important skills of wilderness survival. Shelter, water, fire, and food. No matter what your child’s skill level, from never having camped before, to the most experienced nature enthusiast, they’ll have an awesome time while learning from actual former Green Beret instructors.  If you have attended this camp before, Green Beret Survival 2.0 includes ALL NEW survival skills and challenges for 2017!

July 17- 21 | Junior Triathlon Camp | Ages 7 – 15 | 9am – 12pm

Swim USA triathlete and US Olympic coach Michelle Blessing will guide your child to building their endurance and strength. We will focus on swim, bike & running specific skill work encompassed layers of activity designed to expose young athletes to all aspects of a healthy multi-sport lifestyle. Appropriate for all levels of ability, even if you’re a first-timer!

August 1-5 | Summer Remix Academy | Ages 5 – 10 | 1pm – 4pm

Did you miss one of our camps this year?  This camp is for you.  Each day we will focus on a different camp!  We will have science, art, cooking, golf, tennis and everything in-between!  This camp is sure to capture the attention of even our youngest campers!
Members: $225 | Non-Members: $250

August 7-10 | Advanced Tennis Academy | Ages 14+ | 9am – 3pm

This four-day camp is geared toward our Advanced Tennis players, ready to take their game to the next level.  All players will receive a private video analysis (Wilson Tennis Sensor) to help with all aspects of their swing.  Parents will be able to come in on the last day for an awards ceremony and match play.
Price includes lunch. Members: $400 | Non-Members $425

**We reserve the right to cancel any camp that does not meet the minimum.
** You will be charged in whole at time of registration. If you need to cancel your reservation prior to 14 days before your camps start date you will receive a 75% refund. Within two weeks you will receive a 25% refund.

Alison King-Wieker, Recreation and Event Manager

Alison moved from Northern California and been enjoying the mountain life of Colorado for 12 years with her husband and two young sons. Since joining the club in 2010, Alison enjoys connecting member families together and thinking of new ways for members and families to have fun at the club. She is passionate about helping in creating lifelong memories through these activities, and two of her perennial favorites are Trunk or Treat and the Christmas Tree Lighting. In addition to her work helping families have fun and make memories, Alison coaches basketball and track. She loves interacting with Members and feels there feedback is invaluable for the success of the club, she welcomes innovative ideas, comments and concerns.

Scott Leifer, Director of Tennis

Scott Leifer started playing tennis at the age of seven and loves to share his passion for tennis with all the children and adults he coaches. He comes to us from the Country Club of Colorado. Scott is a stroke technician and relies on coaching mental toughness. He has molded many junior players into strong athletes and successful college students, and his life lessons turn them into great individuals who thrive in whatever endeavor they choose. These skills make him a fantastic asset to The Club and member tennis programs. Scott is happily married to his wife, Shannon, and is a father to three children: Savannah, Samson and Scarlet. He also has two dogs, Solo and Sylvie.

Trish Pino, Kissing Camels Grille Manager

Trish Pino has more than three decades of hospitality experience, most recently as the food and beverage manager at Colorado Springs Country Club. She has spent her career building teams focused on excellent service and member satisfaction. Trish has always loved Colorado Springs and returned here in 1996 after spending three years in San Antonio, Texas. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her three sons and daughter-in-law, cooking, entertaining, gardening, and learning anything new. Trish is thrilled to be at The Club at Garden of the Gods and looks forward to getting to know our members and guests.
